AJEBASK, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Álava, has selected Chubby Apps as the winner of the 2022 Young Entrepreneur award in the Innovative Company category. This award seeks to recognize the work of young Alavese entrepreneurs whose projects have managed to stand out during the year.
"If there is one thing we were clear about when we founded Chubby Apps, it is that technology is wonderful and has an incredible potential to improve people's lives," commented the founders.
Likewise, they assure that they "would not have come this far" without all those people who have supported them so much: "To my grandfather Txomin, to the BIC Araba family, and to our parents. Thank you. A thousand times over to all of you. For teaching us. For supporting us. And, above all, for believing in us. Thanks to you, we will be able to improve the quality of life of millions of people with diabetes."
With these words Asier G. Morato and Patricia Bedoya closed their thank-you video. Indeed, while their families were collecting the award, they were in Boston participating in the Richi Entrepreneurs acceleration program. Soaking up as much as possible of the American healthcare ecosystem hand in hand with the Richi Foundation, Pfizer, and the Fundación Pfizer.
However, this is not the only acceleration program we have recently participated in. Chubby Apps has also been selected to be part of the Apple Entrepreneur Camp. An initiative that is allowing us to receive training from the company and work hand in hand with its professionals for 8 weeks to build the next generation of cutting-edge apps.
Thanks to all these opportunities, and others such as the first prize of the III edition of Pfizer, Fundación Pfizer, and The CUBE's Innomakers4Health, the company has had an exceptional year in which we have seen our own projects grow by leaps and bounds.
What is certain is that during the coming year, we will continue working our hardest to bring out the best side of technology and make it a tool that makes people's lives easier.
Thank you for allowing us to make your day-to-day life easier. And thank you to the AJEBASK team for this recognition. It is a true honor.

Before you ask
Are these apps yours or your clients'?
Both. Cori and FitWoody are ours, which is why we know what it takes to sustain a product for years and not just launch it. The rest are commissions, with their own client and brand.
Almost everything shown here is about health. What if mine isn't?
Healthcare is where we have published the most, but not the only thing we do. There are also hospitality, sports, and city projects. The sector changes, not the way of working.
What part do you do?
Brand, product and development. We design the identity, the app and the website, and then we program them. iOS, Android and web.
What happens when the app is already live?
Now comes the interesting part. FitWoody has been in the App Store since 2023, and in 2025 we completely rebuilt it. Launching is just the beginning, not the final delivery.
Seeing this, it looks like a large studio. How many of you are there?
Two. That's why you always talk to the person doing the work, and that's why we say no often.
Where do you start?
By telling us what you want to do. From there we work out whether it makes sense, how big it is and where it's best to start.
