After an intense 48 hours of work, Cori, the app that simplifies diabetes management, has won the first prize in the III edition of Innomakers4Health organized by Pfizer, the Fundación Pfizer, and The Cube.

The competition kicked off last Thursday, November 25, and brought together more than 100 participants from Spain and abroad over a weekend to work toward a single goal: finding innovative and creative solutions that help patients understand their pathology and treatment in a visual and comprehensible way.

«I know firsthand how difficult it is to be diagnosed with diabetes. It's a shock and it changes your life forever. It's like running a marathon you're not prepared for. Too much information, variables, and complications. That's why when Pfizer threw down the gauntlet, we were very clear about what we wanted to develop,» said Asier G. Morato, co-founder of Chubby Apps.

«During the hackathon, we wanted to re-imagine Cori to transition from being a glucose diary to a digital assistant that helps patients familiarize themselves with their disease,» said Patricia Bedoya, co-founder of Chubby Apps.

To achieve this, they designed a solution with three parts:

A gamification and achievement system that helps patients get started with their diabetes treatment, instilling best practices step by step.

Personalized Stories (informative pills) that are generated automatically based on their progress and explain key concepts of the disease.

Jointly analyzing glucose, food, and exercise data to visually show how beneficial or harmful that activity turned out to be.

«Developing this entire project in just 48 hours was not easy at all, but the experience was wonderful. All the participants set the bar very high, so you can imagine our surprise when we saw we had won,» says Asier G. Morato. «This recognition shows us that we are on the right track, and we are very eager to take Cori to the next level during the 6-month incubation at the Innomakers Lab in The Cube,» he concludes.

«I want to congratulate all the participants on their solutions. Innomakers4Health is about precisely this: seeking innovative projects that add value and improve patients' lives,» said Sergio Rodríguez, general manager of Pfizer Spain.

This is not the first award received by the app developed in Vitoria-Gasteiz, as last October it won the award for the best idea granted by Álava Emprende. Currently, Cori is available for iPhone and iPad and can be downloaded for free from the App Store. The Android version will be released in the coming months.

Before you ask

Are these apps yours or your clients'?

Both. Cori and FitWoody are ours, which is why we know what it takes to sustain a product for years and not just launch it. The rest are commissions, with their own client and brand.

Almost everything shown here is about health. What if mine isn't?

Healthcare is where we have published the most, but not the only thing we do. There are also hospitality, sports, and city projects. The sector changes, not the way of working.

What part do you do?

Brand, product and development. We design the identity, the app and the website, and then we program them. iOS, Android and web.

What happens when the app is already live?

Now comes the interesting part. FitWoody has been in the App Store since 2023, and in 2025 we completely rebuilt it. Launching is just the beginning, not the final delivery.

Seeing this, it looks like a large studio. How many of you are there?

Two. That's why you always talk to the person doing the work, and that's why we say no often.

Where do you start?

By telling us what you want to do. From there we work out whether it makes sense, how big it is and where it's best to start.

Are we a fit?

If you've made it this far, something must have resonated with you. Tell us what you want to build, and we'll tell you frankly if we are the right studio for you.
