We are Chubby Apps and we make apps that don't need an instruction manual. With a huggable design, and that improve people's lives.
We might not have been born with a tablet under our arms like kids nowadays, but we have been tinkering with gadgets since before we can remember. And little by little we have realized that what is very simple for us is a real struggle for other people (like our parents and even many friends). Technology has to be simple and help us improve our lives. Not hook us, anger us, or depress us.
We want to change the conversations surrounding technology. From bad to good. From children hooked on their tablets, to those who learn on their own to do anything they can imagine. From apps that collect all your data to sell it to the highest bidder, to apps that respect your privacy.
Because if there is one thing we are clear about (Patricia Bedoya and me, Asier G. Morato) it's that technology is wonderful. Thanks to it, we can create a small business in a city like Vitoria-Gasteiz and reach the entire world.
Launching a project like this in the middle of a global pandemic has not been easy at all. Luckily, we have the support of wonderful people like BIC Araba, the Chamber of Commerce of Álava, or Metxa, among others, who have helped us since we started this project almost two years ago.
Today, April 6, 2021, we can finally present Chubby Apps to you.
At Chubby Apps, we believe that technology doesn't have to be complicated. That's why we make apps that don't need an instruction manual. With a very huggable and fully accessible design. That respect your privacy, because the only thing we want to know about you is if you like our apps. All of this to achieve a single goal: to improve people's lives.
If masks, social distancing, and mobility restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic are being hard on us, imagine the life of finger pricks, tests, and limits that people with diabetes lead.
Asier, our co-founder, knows this perfectly well and that's why we are developing Cori. An app that helps you see beyond the day-to-day and encourages you to keep improving. All of this in an intuitive way and respecting your privacy. The app will be launched at the end of the year and will be available on Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
A year ago, when we were still tossing around the idea of Chubby Apps, we decided to set everything aside and jump into creating SafeTimer. A completely altruistic and open-source app with which we wanted to do our bit to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
We had been confined at home for a couple of weeks, and little by little it was proven that masks (along with social distancing and hand washing) were one of the best tools to prevent the virus. It is not only important to wear them, but to do so correctly and use them for the time they were designed for. That's where the idea for SafeTimer was born.
Three weeks later it was already published in the App Store and its code posted on GitHub so that anyone could help us improve it. The reception was spectacular: it was translated into 7 languages and echoed by media outlets like Applesfera or MacStories.
Oh! And don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook if you want to keep up with everything we are cooking up.

Before you ask
Are these apps yours or your clients'?
Both. Cori and FitWoody are ours, which is why we know what it takes to sustain a product for years and not just launch it. The rest are commissions, with their own client and brand.
Almost everything shown here is about health. What if mine isn't?
Healthcare is where we have published the most, but not the only thing we do. There are also hospitality, sports, and city projects. The sector changes, not the way of working.
What part do you do?
Brand, product and development. We design the identity, the app and the website, and then we program them. iOS, Android and web.
What happens when the app is already live?
Now comes the interesting part. FitWoody has been in the App Store since 2023, and in 2025 we completely rebuilt it. Launching is just the beginning, not the final delivery.
Seeing this, it looks like a large studio. How many of you are there?
Two. That's why you always talk to the person doing the work, and that's why we say no often.
Where do you start?
By telling us what you want to do. From there we work out whether it makes sense, how big it is and where it's best to start.

Are we a fit?
If you've made it this far, something must have resonated with you. Tell us what you want to build, and we'll tell you frankly if we are the right studio for you.
