Chubby Apps: Three years of innovation
Every time I sit down to summarize the year at Chubby Apps, I need to sit with the calendar in front of me and list everything that has happened.

Every time I set out to summarize what we lived through at Chubby Apps during the year, I need to sit down, take a look at the calendar, and list everything that has marked our day-to-day. It is a heap of news and updates, and as my mother always tells me, "I don't know how you find the time for so much." But that is just how the life of an entrepreneur is: a bunch of small things that make it worth keeping on going.
If I had to choose a word to describe this year, it would be "the year of crossing the desert." There is a moment in the life of every company when it has to cross the famous "Valley of Death." Reaching this point has been quite a challenge, and it has been curious to see how we have moved from the typical problems of a startup to those of a more consolidated company. At the beginning, we worried about not finding clients, and now, the challenge is finding the right people to keep growing.
So here is a short article to celebrate every achievement, every challenge overcome, and why not, to remember with a smile the madness that this third year has been.
In summary, this year we have:
Expanded the team
Opened our third office (and we hope it will be the permanent one for many years to come)
Launched our second internal app
Received the Entrepreneurship Award in Álava
Recognitions by Apple
We have become teachers!- Worked on incredible projects with startups and corporates that are changing the world
An Office in the Heart of Vitoria-Gasteiz
This year, we opened our third office in three years, a spacious space full of inspiration in the center of Vitoria-Gasteiz. The truth is that we hope not to have to move from here for a long time. A 100 m² premises located between Diputación Street and Herrería Street, just one minute from the Virgen Blanca, the nerve center of our city.
A building with more than 150 years of history, yet modern, innovative, and simple, which perfectly represents what we like to do at Chubby Apps: create spaces with personality, grounded in the past but oriented towards the future.
A place where we love to come to work, enjoy its gallery, and the light that floods it every midday.
FitWoody, a macroscope of your own body
You already know that we love to embark on new projects within the team. This 2023-24, we bet on FitWoody, an adorable personal trainer who accompanies you day by day to keep you active.
A "Macroscope" of your own body that has been recognized by Apple as:
Best App for iOS 17
Best App for WatchOS 10
Apps created by visionaries
Quite an achievement for an app that is just beginning its journey, and from which we expect many joys in the future.
The human factor of entrepreneurship
Not only are we passionate about the startup world, but one of our greatest achievements last year was being recognized as young entrepreneurs of the year, with the Álava Emprende award. An award given to outstanding entrepreneurs in our environment that fills us with pride both for its meaning and for the support of entities such as Álava Emprende, BIC Araba, the Álava Chamber of Commerce, the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz, and the Vital Foundation.
We often think that support for entrepreneurs is measured in funding, but the human and mental factor is just as or more important.
Back to the classroom
The other day I was told one of those phrases that stays spinning around in your head. It is this idea that when someone gives you the opportunity to teach them, they are not only gifting you their time, but they are also placing their trust in you. They trust that you are going to guide them in their learning and that what you know is going to filter into how they see and do things. What a responsibility, right? Well, Asier and I dove headfirst into this adventure this year, all thanks to Borja Sobas, the Interaction Design teacher at ID-Arte.
We jumped into mentoring the Interaction Design course. We taught the kids how a digital product is designed from A to Z: from the first idea to its presentation to the world, passing through all the mess of product, marketing, and business.
It is a true honor that they considered us for this. And let me tell you, the students' presentations were something to take your hat off to, nothing to envy from what we do at Chubby Apps. A great class that, we hope, has soaked up our ideas well and will serve them to power through their professional future.
Great projects that make a difference!
The projects we are excited to show
This year we have also partnered with a wide variety of companies and startups, collaborating on the creation of digital products that truly improve people's lives. From the beginning, we have been involved in the entire process: conceiving, designing, developing, and launching these products to the world.
These are those projects that we are excited to show, led by entrepreneurs with whom it is a pleasure to collaborate. This is where the true success of Chubby Apps lies: in attracting work that resonates with our philosophy. To give you an idea:- AIKreate: Introducing teenagers to the world of Artificial Intelligence.- IKI-Health: Promoting holistic health for active and healthy aging.
Our technology is characterized by being friendly, warm, accessible, and full of color.
This third year has been absolute madness, following the trend. However, for the fourth year, we aspire to find balance. Our goal is to fine-tune what we are truly good at, what sets us apart, and fit perfectly into your company's needs. We want to be that factor of innovation that transforms and solves problems, illuminating and improving every aspect in which we intervene. We face this challenge with great enthusiasm and are looking forward to tackling it.

Everything we have left behind along the way
Back to the journey
Before you ask
Are these apps yours or your clients'?
Both. Cori and FitWoody are ours, which is why we know what it takes to sustain a product for years and not just launch it. The rest are commissions, with their own client and brand.
Almost everything shown here is about health. What if mine isn't?
Healthcare is where we have published the most, but not the only thing we do. There are also hospitality, sports, and city projects. The sector changes, not the way of working.
What part do you do?
Brand, product and development. We design the identity, the app and the website, and then we program them. iOS, Android and web.
What happens when the app is already live?
Now comes the interesting part. FitWoody has been in the App Store since 2023, and in 2025 we completely rebuilt it. Launching is just the beginning, not the final delivery.
Seeing this, it looks like a large studio. How many of you are there?
Two. That's why you always talk to the person doing the work, and that's why we say no often.
Where do you start?
By telling us what you want to do. From there we work out whether it makes sense, how big it is and where it's best to start.

Are we a fit?
If you've made it this far, something must have resonated with you. Tell us what you want to build, and we'll tell you frankly if we are the right studio for you.
