So many things have happened in these last 12 months, that it seems hard to believe only one year has passed.
They say that entrepreneurship is like riding an emotional Roller Coaster. And this second year of Chubby Apps is good proof of it. So many things have happened to us in such a short time that many times we haven't been able to sit down and enjoy each moment as we would have liked. So here comes a short article to celebrate each achievement and thank all the people who have accompanied us for their help. As Jack the Ripper said, "let's take it in pieces"… Just in case you don't feel like reading everything, here is a small summary of everything we have done in this second year of Chubby Apps. We have: Expanded our team, Opened our first and second offices, Created our first spin-off, Traveled thousands of kilometers between Vitoria, Madrid, Barcelona, and Boston, Developed apps for all kinds of companies and organizations, Ah! And we also bought an absolutely spectacular neon sign.
The Chubby Team grows
One of the achievements we are most proud of is being able to grow the Chubby Team. We are looking for a mobile app developer. So if you are reading this, don't hesitate to send us your CV. In addition, we have had the huge luck of having the help of three incredible interns such as: Bea Temprano, Community Manager. She has been in charge of creating much of the content that is currently on the Cori website. At Caronte, they are very lucky to have her.
Asier del Arco, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences student at the University of Deusto. In just 3 months, he has helped us completely refocus how Cori analyzes workouts and daily activity.
Ainhoa Estirado, Business Administration + Digital Business student at the University of Deusto. She arrived when we didn't even have an office and was an indispensable part in those crazy months when we consolidated Chubby Apps as a company.
In the few months they have been with us, they have shown that they have great talent and we have no doubt that great things await them. Hopefully our paths will cross again!
First and second office
This year we have not only expanded the team, but we have also opened our first and second offices. Both in the Business Center of the Old Town (Casco Viejo). Right in the heart of Vitoria-Gasteiz. An incredible space where we have been able to meet wonderful people. Travel companions who have become friends and even clients.
Something we were very clear about when we started looking for an office is that it had to be a space where it was a pleasure to work. And I think we have achieved it. There is no Ping-Pong table, but we have spacious desks, 4K screens, a small meeting area, good music... and a neon sign that is completely unjustifiable from a business point of view and totally necessary from an emotional point of view.
Cori, our pride and joy
Although if there is one thing that has exceeded all our expectations, it is Cori, our pride and joy. What started as a personal project to help Asier manage his diabetes has been growing and growing to become our first Spin-Off. The project remains Bootstrapped, with all the challenges that entails, but it already has its own entity: Cori Health & Care S.L.U. All thanks to the support given to us by Pfizer and Apple with their acceleration programs: InnomakerLAB and Entrepreneur Camp, respectively. The health, technology, marketing, and business experts from both have helped us immensely, and we couldn't be more grateful. We were also lucky enough to travel to Boston to get to know the entrepreneurship and health ecosystem alongside Richi Entrepreneur and the Fundación Pfizer.
A masterclass that has helped us go one step further with Cori. Moving from being an app to measure glucose to becoming a personal health coach, powered by artificial intelligence. These past few months we have started to lay the foundations and we hope to launch it onto the market by the end of the year. We will be sharing more details in the coming weeks.
If you are more curious about the project, here are some interviews they have done with us in recent weeks:
Pedro Aznar for Applesfera: "From not knowing how to program to creating an essential application for diabetics: we talk with Chubby Apps and their success story in the App Store". Chema Flores for El Español (Omicrono): "This is Cori, the innovative Spanish application to control diabetes with Apple devices". EFE: "Entrepreneurship in Health: Challenges and Barriers".
Collaborations and an award
Throughout this year, we have also been lucky enough to collaborate with cool projects and companies such as: Pelayo and The Cube, LUP, Jizoo, Dendari.app, or Green Card (still in development). In some, we participated from the very beginning, helping them in the conceptualization and design phase, and in others, we only handled the development. Either way, the truth is we couldn't be happier with the results.
For all of this, and some other things that we have surely left out, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Álava (AJEBASK) chose Chubby Apps as the innovative company of the year 2022. An award that seeks to recognize the work of young Alavese entrepreneurs whose projects have managed to stand out during the year.
Good things come in threes... As you can see, this second year of Chubby Apps has been quite a roller coaster, but the truth is we are having a great time. So for this third year that is starting, we only ask to be able to keep experimenting and adding new travel companions.
Until next time! Asier and Patricia.

Everything we have left behind along the way
Back to the journey
Before you ask
Are these apps yours or your clients'?
Both. Cori and FitWoody are ours, which is why we know what it takes to sustain a product for years and not just launch it. The rest are commissions, with their own client and brand.
Almost everything shown here is about health. What if mine isn't?
Healthcare is where we have published the most, but not the only thing we do. There are also hospitality, sports, and city projects. The sector changes, not the way of working.
What part do you do?
Brand, product and development. We design the identity, the app and the website, and then we program them. iOS, Android and web.
What happens when the app is already live?
Now comes the interesting part. FitWoody has been in the App Store since 2023, and in 2025 we completely rebuilt it. Launching is just the beginning, not the final delivery.
Seeing this, it looks like a large studio. How many of you are there?
Two. That's why you always talk to the person doing the work, and that's why we say no often.
Where do you start?
By telling us what you want to do. From there we work out whether it makes sense, how big it is and where it's best to start.

Are we a fit?
If you've made it this far, something must have resonated with you. Tell us what you want to build, and we'll tell you frankly if we are the right studio for you.
